Factsheet: (AquaStress) Data Storage
Definition
A generic spatio-temporal database for recording environmental, economic and social data relevant to support the water stress mitigation process. Due to the fact that databases are general facilities, this fact sheet focuses on the database used in AquaStress.
Application objectives
To provide the storage and data handling facilities necessary for managing data, in this particular situation data relevant to AquaStress.
Pertinent participation process phase(s)
1- Starting organization
2- Actors analysis, context
3- Diagnostic of the current situation
4- Search of solutions
5- Implementation, evaluation
Application method
The database will be set up by WB 4. The database will allow other tools to retrieve relevant data. Other tools may be models, web-sites etc.
Application example(s)
The anticipated database for AquaStress is the database developed within the HarmoniRiB project (http://194.119.202.82/HarmoniRiB/).
Example tools
Many databases exist (e.g. Microsoft Access; MySql Open Source database: http://www.mysql.com; PostgreSQL, the most advanced open source relational database system: http://www.postgresql.org).
The anticipated database for AquaStress is the database developed within the HarmoniRiB project. This database is available for use within AquaStress.
The database used by the HarmoniRiB project holds:
- Meteorological data;
- Hydrological data;
- Water quality data;
- Ecological data;
- Spatial data
